Filter Cartridge Replacement in Schellsburg, PA

Filter Cartridge Replacement in Schellsburg, PA

Cartridge filters only work while the cartridge has capacity left. Once it loads up, you get pressure loss, or worse, a carbon cartridge that stops removing chlorine without any visible sign. Schellsburg, PA Whole House Water Filtration handles filter cartridge replacement for homes across Schellsburg, PA.

On a typical service visit we:

• Close the inlet and outlet valves and open the bypass
• Relieve pressure with the red button on the housing cap
• Pull the old cartridge and clean the sump
• Inspect and lube the O-ring with food-grade silicone
• Install the new cartridge and check for drips

That O-ring step matters. A dry or twisted O-ring is the most common cause of a slow leak at the housing threads after a cartridge change.

We stock common sizes such as 2.5 x 10, 4.5 x 10 and 4.5 x 20 inch, in pleated, spun, carbon block and specialty media. If your housing is cracked or yellowed with age, we will point that out before it splits.

Most whole house sediment cartridges need changing every 3 to 6 months, and carbon blocks every 6 to 12, but your water decides the real number.
